Spiced Vanilla and Wine Poached Pears

Ingredients

  • 2 cups red wine half a bottle
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon All Spice
  • 1 clove
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 Bartlett pears

Instructions

  • Add wine, sugar, vanilla, and spices to large saucepan on medium-high heat and bring to a boil
  • While water is heating, peel pears
  • Once liquid reaches boil, turn it down to low
  • Add pears to liquid and simmer for 15 minutes or until tender, turning every couple minutes 
  • Remove and let cool to room temperature
  • Serve with ice cream and enjoy
